When Loss Leave a Hole...

I had a friend once upon a time.  21 years ago she left this earthly bond. Her family requested that her organs and veins and skin tissue be donated so someone else could continue their life.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and wish she were here.

We both had our children 6 months and 2 months apart.  We talked on the phone almost every day. We would get together on Saturdays or Sundays, both our families and have dinner, we would celebrate birthdays or we spent 20 some years going to OU Football games.  My last memory of her was watching her raise her hand to wave good-bye shouting "See you in two weeks" as her family was getting ready to go to Colorado to visit family and have a vacation.  I never saw her again.  The hole in my heart was huge as we were soul sisters. Even after 21 years I still shed tears thinking about her.

Andy over at "MY Old RV" lost a friend this last week, "Fat Boy Scott."  The only way they ever communicated was through e-mail.  He never met him or talked to him on the phone but their connection was strong, so strong that he too, has a hole in his soul.  I know only too well the feeling.  A little piece of you goes with them.  It takes time for your heart to see the sun again.  But one day it will.
